Website and Server definitions

Both eZ publish Professional License and the Online editor is priced either per website or per server. A website licence is valid for one website, which is defined as two site accesses, for example one for admin and one for the user site. A site access is an eZ publish configuration of a site.

Since it is possible to run many website on one eZ publish installation this is the natural definition, since it is normally one admin and one user site on one web solution.

A server licence is valid for one server running eZ publish. There are no limits to the number of users, websites or installations you have on that server. A server is defined as one physical or virtual server (for example a virtual server on a mainframe computer).

Version and upgrade policy

A license is valid for the current major version with its minor releases. For example if 3.4 is the valid version at the time you buy your license the you have the right to use it for 3.4 and all new 3.4.x releases, like 3.4.1, 3.4.2 etc. But the license is not valid for later major releases like 3.5, 3.6 etc.

With the basic license 30 days upgrades are included. Thus all major version released within the next 30 days are also included in the license.
As an option you can buy 1 year of upgrades extending this period until one year. You can decide to do this at a later point, but the license will be valid from the date you bought the license + 1 year. If you have not bought any upgrades for a period of 1 year after the end of you license.

The licensee is not valid for further upgrades and a new must be bought to get upgrades.
